“For the past few years, I have been working on CRUSHFILM, a short film that emerged from a research&#38;nbsp;
into a crush that gradually turned into an attachment that could never fully exist.
Using the camera as a tool for reflection, I recorded memories, observations and moments that helped me 
navigate an experience that was both intimate and destabilising.&#38;nbsp;In CRUSHFILM, a seemingly innocent obsession becomes the catalyst for a tragic inner conflict, 
exposing the fragile boundary between desire, projection and reality.

The film is scheduled to premiere in 2026, with events to be announced .

Eleye Boerenkamps (she/they, b. 1994, NL) places the complexity of (family) relationships and memories at the heart of their practice. Personal experiences tied to objects, people, bodies, places and language take shape as fragile sculptural expressions of connectedness. The works, rooted in experiences of precarity, awkwardness and loss, are shared in a direct and uncanny way, sometimes with a touch of humor. Her interest in archaeology, combined with her observation of everyday life, informs her approach to archiving and revealing personal histories through sculptural, performative and documentary works.&#38;nbsp;Eleye was a resident at the post-graduate program De Ateliers in Amsterdam (2018–2020), and studied Art History at Radboud University Nijmegen and Education at the Academy for Fine Arts in Tilburg. Eleye currently lives and works in Amsterdam.

Eleye Boerenkamps (zij/diens, 1994, Deurne) maakt de complexiteit van relaties en herinneringen tot de kern van het werk. Persoonlijke ervaringen die verbonden zijn aan objecten, personen, locaties en taal krijgen vorm als kwetsbare sculpturale uitingen van onderlinge verbondenheid. Kwetsbaarheid, ongemak en verlies worden op een directe en soms humoristische wijze getoond. Eleye’s interesse in archeologie, gecombineerd met haar observatie van het alledaagse leven, vormt de basis voor een onderzoekende praktijk van het archiveren en ontsluiten van persoonlijke geschiedenissen via sculpturale, performatieve en documentaire werken. Eleye was deelnemer aan de postacademische instelling De Ateliers in Amsterdam van 2018 tot 2020, en studeerde Kunstgeschiedenis aan de Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen en volgde de docentenopleiding aan de Academie voor Beeldende Vorming in Tilburg. Eleye woont en werkt momenteel in Amsterdam.

		<description>Standards of Living / Levensstandaarden

A standard here, constructed from found materials, is the actual sculpture and not only a support. There is no hierarchy between the thing that is holding something up, and the thing that is held. These standards show the construction and vulnerability of display. Moments from everyday life are casted in such form that looks like it is almost falling (apart). Denouncing the illusion of stability and permanence and the idea of practicality.

Film kijken samen aan de telefoon en dan kletsen en zeggen: pak jij ook een wijntje? Hoe gaat het. Verhaal psycholoog -&#38;gt; verbonden aan de huisarts. Oma gesprek over hoe het dan met mama niet goed gaat. Thija is nog steeds erg creatief met denken. Marc heeft Thija’s bedrijf overgenomen. Oma heeft Marc vd Boomen een schilderij gegeven van een Antilliaanse vrouw met een wratje op linnenbehang die ze zelf heeft opgespannen. heel schraal met olieverf. Haar eerste schilderij die ze zo maakt.

Grandma gave Mark van den Boomen a painting of an Antillean woman with a wart, on linen wallpaper that she stretched herself. Very sparse use of oil paint. It was the first painting she made in that way.

various pieces of wood and six screwsThis series of wall sculptures is inspired by the typical swearwords of my father being a part of his vocabulary. These words are recognised by people from his generation (born in the sixtees) and some words are typical for the province of his hometown region. These boards remind of practical self-made signs typical for houses, homemade bars, camping sites or boats and the content questions with the societal expectations of a ‘decent’ parent. They are made out of domestic scrap-wood from renovated interiors mostly found in Amsterdam. Each piece of wood shows its own story, use in the past and is a witness of deconstruction of an unknown domestic space. 
Deze serie wandborden laten de scheldwoorden van de vader van de kunstenaar zien. Hier wordt zowel de manier van vloeken weergegeven die typisch is de generatie van haar vader en de regio waar hij woont. Het werk herinnert aan knutselachtige doe-het-zelf naamborden die voorkomen op huizen, boten of zuipketen. Ze zijn gemaakt van gevonden resthout afkomstig uit gerenoveerde huizen in Amsterdam. Elk stuk hout verwijst naar een persoonlijke herinnering gemaakt uit een restant van een onbekend opgebroken huis met gebruikssporen.
